Intro Philosophy: Third Response Paper

For the third paper, you should discuss in at least three typed double-spaced pages whether there are absolute certainties (the position of Descartes) or if all truth is assumption (the position of Hume). A good example is 2 + 3 = 5, about which Descartes says we could not possibly be deceived. Do we know this truth by deduction to be absolutely certain, or do we assume this by induction to be decently useful?
